Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of thermoforming machines, equipment, and associated services. This position is essential for maintaining production efficiency, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safely isolate electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems before performing maintenance.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical faults in thermoforming machinery.
3. Identify skill gaps within the maintenance team and drive improvements in troubleshooting and technical expertise.
4. Work closely with the engineering team to enhance machine reliability and performance.
5. Accurately log maintenance activities and repairs in the Pragma system.
6. Balance cost efficiency with stock availability to maintain an optimal inventory level.
7. Track and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to maximize productivity.
8. Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
9. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained post-maintenance to maintain production readiness.
10. Assist with the selection, installation, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Qualifications:
1. Certified Maintenance Technician with an electrical background.
2. Advanced/Higher Certificate is an advantage.
3. Strong communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken English.
