There are no limits here on the resources you’ll have or the challenges you’ll encounter.Senior Software EngineerThe Senior Software Engineer will help deliver assisted automation solutions through the building of UIs, APIs, and Services. This includes designing, developing, modifying, and/or testing Optum software applications for the healthcare industry in an agile environment. Along with supporting the build of automated business processes using the suite of RPA tools and other advanced automation technologies currently used. You will support the wider team with coaching and mentoring.Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:Design, implement and maintain Enterprise application within all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Develop, test, implement and maintain application software working with established processesEstablish, refine, and integrate tools and software as neededIdentify production and non-production application issues proactivelyIdentify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applicationsProvide technical support and consultation and serve as a mentorProvide architectural input over solution designs to ensure consistency and continuity across the company’s IT infrastructure and delivery teamsDevelop and configure automation processes as per the process requirements document to meet requirements defined by the businessComply with and help enforce design and coding standards, policies and proceduresCommunicate any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager and provide inputs to the change control processSupport the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phasesTrain and mentor other developers within the team on development and delivery disciplinesDevelop team standards and best practices while keeping up to date with industry standards, and technology changes to help build robust systems to accommodate the industry requirements and business needsInvestigate new technologies and ensure an effective partnership with OPTUM’s Innovation Lab and Analytics teams to leverage the expertise in data science, machine learning and cognitive technologiesRequired Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:Significant experience with software development programming database conceptsProven experience in delivering successful IT business software projectsAdvanced understanding of programming concepts and a programming background in one or more modern languages, preferably C# or JavaExperience in JavaScript – React/TypescriptExposure to Microsoft Azure – both on Prem and Public CloudSolid understanding of typical Enterprise IT infrastructure architectureGood understanding of the key requirements documents involved in a delivery lifecycle (functional, technical, testing documents)Well-organized with good communication and reporting skillsSelf-motivated, team player, action and results orientedExposure to Agile delivery methodsExperience working with distributed teamsPreferred Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer:Experience in delivering an automated process into production using an RPA tool (UIPath, Blue Prism Automation Anywhere others)Previous experience in the Insurance Industry (preferably Health Insurance)Previous experience with Advanced Intelligent Automation, AI / Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer-VisionStrong database skills with proven experience using SQL Server Oracle MySQL etc.Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
