Job Description:
Locum Relief Support Workers, Adult West & East Galway Services, Galway City and County
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland-West Region is seeking Locum Relief Support Workers for our Adult West & East Galway Services in Galway City and County. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that involves providing care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide key-working caring roles for a group of people supported by the services.
* Assist and support individuals in achieving their goals and outcomes as outlined in their individual plans.
* Support individuals in community participation and integration.
Reporting/Responsible To: Staff Nurse in charge, Team Leader, Team Manager or Service Coordinator.
Qualifications:
* Candidates must have a good general education.
* A recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course is an advantage.
* A full, clean, manual Irish Driving Licence is desirable.
Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour is desirable. Full training will be provided.

* Enthusiasm for the post.
Working Hours: Up to 39 hours per week based on a 7 day/night duty roster.
Annual Leave: 22 days pro rata per annum, i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked.
Remuneration: €32,699 x 11 increments - €45,190 (Max) pro rata per annum.
Long Service Increment (LSI): €45,984 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Additional Payments: Made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked.
Salary Quoted: Based on a 39 hour working week.
Tenure: A locum panel of Support Workers will be set up to cover staff on various leave within the services.
Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
