A copy of the current language plan and further information is available upon contact with Comhar Caomhán Teo. The plan was prepared as part of the language planning process in the Gaeltacht, in accordance with the provisions of the Gaeltacht Act, 2012. There is one language plan for the Aran Islands. A Language Planning Officer is based on each island and is responsible for implementing the measures outlined in the language plan on that island. There is continuous cooperation between the three islands. The seven-year plan aims to increase the number of daily Irish speakers in the Language Planning Area. The Language Planning Officer will be responsible to the Chief Executive of Comhar Caomhán. The responsibility for implementing the language plan lies primarily with that organization.
