The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of music programmes and supports under the UBU Youth Programme, under the guidance and support of the Lead Youth Worker.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
Education to Degree standard preferably in the area of Youth/Justice/Social/Community Work (candidates with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications).
It is highly desirable that the applicant displays current or previous experience in the music trade/industry.
A minimum of 1 year relevant youth work experience.

2. Have an understanding across various genres of modern music.
3. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with young people.
4. An understanding of the issues affecting young people in today’s society.
5. Resourceful, Creative and Imaginative.
6. Have the ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a team.
7. Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
8. Flexible approach to working hours.
Key Areas of Work:
1. Assist in the recruitment and support of participants.
2. To actively develop and deliver a plan that will reflect the talents and interest of the participant group.
3. Management and maintenance of music instruments and equipment.
4. Provide a platform for young people to showcase their talent.
5. To identify external competitions or showcase events to promote young people’s musical talents.
6. Ongoing monitoring and assessment of participant’s progression.
7. One to one support.
Programme Administration:
1. Maintain secure and up to date records on all participants.
2. Regular evaluation and review of programme.
3. Responsible for performance reports, annual plan and other written reports as required by the Board of Management and Funders.
Garda Vetting:
Candidates under consideration for employment will be subject to Garda vetting.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: €16.36 per hour
Expected hours: 18 per week
