Gentian Health Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Production Planner to ensure our procurement, logistics, and production planning operations function to the highest standards. In this role, you’ll collaborate with other departments, such as Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Finance, to create effective material supply and product build plans. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is a great opportunity to work within a complex and dynamic operation, supporting multiple customer projects, together with ongoing internal lean and systems enhancement activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Gentian’s Manufacturing Operations, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and other Gentian teams to develop, prioritize, and maintain the Master Production Schedule and implement efficient production build scheduling.
2. Ensure that the correct material, labor, and other resources are in place to meet production schedules and committed delivery dates.
3. Manage the forecasting and demand planning of material for multiple projects.
4. Maintain Gentian’s MRP systems, including works order creation and management, production of pick and pack lists, production & quality documentation, etc.
5. Provide assistance and guidance to Purchasing, Materials Handling, Stores, and Logistics team members, and work to optimize the company’s procurement operations.
6. Liaise with suppliers and logistics service providers to resolve any supply or product issues as they arise.
7. Ensure inventory and records are maintained correctly.
8. Coordinate and manage Engineering Changes and New Product Introduction.
9. Foster a continuous improvement mindset to strive for lean and efficiency.
10. Assist in the implementation and development of ERP systems.
11. Ensure Environmental Health & Safety standards are met and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to.
12. Communicate production and material status to the wider team in a timely manner and report on Key Performance Indicators.
Essential and Desirable Skills:
1. 6+ years previous experience in a Production Planner or similar field.
2. Previous purchasing and logistics management experience preferred.
3. Working experience of relevant ERP.
4. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
6. Background in life sciences or medical devices an advantage.
7. Experience in electronic and electromechanical-based products an advantage.
8. Strong customer-facing skills.
9. Versatility in day-to-day activities by providing cross-departmental support when necessary.
