Join Croï at a dynamic time in our 40-year history as we expand our stroke support services. We seek a Community Stroke Support Specialist to lead the development of innovative offerings for people affected by stroke.
This role is based at the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre in Galway, with flexibility for remote working. You will oversee stroke-related activities, lead on existing support offerings, and devise new initiatives based on community needs.
Key Tasks:
* Oversee the operation of Croí's stroke-related activities, including scheduling and communicating with partners.
* Lead on existing stroke support offerings, including review and improvement in line with emerging guidelines.
* Devise, deliver, and evaluate new evidence-based initiatives based on community needs.
* Involvement in community-based and advocacy activities related to stroke prevention.
* Be responsible for stroke information resources on managing stroke risk factors.
* Support advocacy activities through Croí's Heart and Stroke Voice Ireland initiative.
* Develop and maintain relationships with specialist stroke services.
* Work with local and national bodies in the development of national health service priorities.
Minimum Requirements:
* CORU registration or proof of relevant qualifications and experience.
* A proficient knowledge of current developments in stroke prevention and management.
* Advanced clinical reasoning.
* Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Demonstrate leadership skills in the management and co-ordination of stroke activities.
* Initiative and motivation in service delivery.
* Confidence, assertiveness, and flexibility.
* Excellent IT skills, including email, Microsoft Office, and database management.
* Excellent writing skills, including contributing to information leaflets and reports.
* Experience in public speaking and delivery of patient education sessions.
* Excellent organisational skills, including time management, problem-solving, and project planning.
* A commitment to quality, measurable through audit and/or research.
Remuneration: The salary scale is €53,000 – €58,000 dependent on experience. The role is being offered initially as a fixed-term contract of 12 months, with a review to become permanent based on performance.
