About the Role
The role of a forensic investigator is incredibly interesting and extremely variable. Adaptability to changing environments and effective communication with people are key aspects of this work.
As a forensic fire engineer/electrical engineer/mechanical engineer, you will examine and document fire and water-damaged buildings, then write reports for clients. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided.
This is a full-time position with 40% of time spent on site across Ireland and possibly further afield, while the remaining time will be in our offices in Rathnew, Co Wicklow.
* Origin and cause investigations
* Attending scenes: written and photographic recording of the scene, witness statements, securing of evidence etc.
* Reviewing building regulations, BS, and other relevant standards, manufacturers installation guidelines, good working practices etc.
* Fault diagnoses and complex problem-solving
* Internet research on product recalls related to equipment, appliances, or individual components
Requirements
* An electrical/mechanical/fire engineering background and associated academic qualifications
* An observant and inquisitive mind
* Comfortable excavating a fire- or water-damaged building or structure
* Comfortable in a corporate/office environment
* Ability to adapt to changing environments
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word
* A full driving licence
