Our client is a large Irish-owned Facilities Management company working across multiple sectors including Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Education, Corporate, Government, Public Buildings, and Retail.
We are currently recruiting for an EHS Advisor to join the EHS team. This full-time permanent role would be ideally suited to an individual with a construction or trade background, as it consists of both site visits and office-based duties.
1. Develop comprehensive guidelines, processes, and documentation to ensure company compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
2. Implement and enforce required standards to safeguard employee well-being and protect the environment.
3. Prepare and meticulously inspect Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as well as Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) documentation to identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
4. Conduct thorough administrative and site audits to verify adherence to contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and EHS standards.
5. Monitor compliance among specialist subcontractors, agency personnel, and direct employees to maintain a safe working environment.
6. Foster relationships and maintain a positive proactive presence on-site to ensure strict compliance with EHS guidelines and regulations.
7. Lead and coordinate comprehensive accident investigations, ensuring thorough and timely reporting of incidents, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify the underlying causes of accidents and near-misses. Implement practical and realistic corrective and preventive measures to enhance EHS performance.
8. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive measures to mitigate the risk of future incidents.
9. Ensure continued compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including ISO14001 and ISO45001.
10. Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards and adapt company practices accordingly.
11. Effectively manage and maintain employee training records in collaboration with the Training Department to ensure that all employees receive appropriate EHS training.
12. Utilize company platforms to ensure compliance with company requirements.
13. Prepare EHS reports for SMT and present reports where required, including monthly project KPIs.
14. Act as point of contact for the Head of EHS when required.
15. Perform any other duties as necessary to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the business, as directed by company leadership.
Requirements:
1. Degree qualified in an EHS discipline.
2. Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Construction industry essential.
3. 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
4. Possess an Internal Auditing accreditation to include Integrated Management Systems (ISO14000 and ISO 45001).
5. In-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations.
6. Preferably has qualifications in Train the Trainer, First Aid, Manual Handling, and DSE Assessor.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports.
8. Conscientious with a high attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English.
10. Experience with the Construction Regulations and CDM roles, with experience working with subcontractors.
11. Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
12. Ability to prepare Audits and EHS reports to a high standard.
13. Proactive in identifying positive and negative acts, with the ability to follow through with realistic corrective and preventive actions.
14. Ability to lead and coordinate incident investigations and utilize root cause analysis.
Package:
€55K- €65k negotiable based on experience & qualifications.
Full-time permanent staff role with company benefits, life assurance, pension, health insurance, etc.
Role will be based in client office in Blanchardstown with regular travel to client sites in Dublin.
