A leading Dairy and Agribusiness based in Co. Roscommon is seeking an experienced Procurement and Commercial Manager to drive sales growth and oversee procurement strategies for their Feed Mill. The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, commercial operations, and ensure product quality, all while optimising supply chains to support the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement strategies that prioritise value, quality, and supplier reliability.
Manage key supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply of high-quality materials.
Monitor market trends and risks, making informed purchasing decisions to drive profitability.
Negotiate supplier contracts, optimizing costs and delivery schedules.
Collaborate with product development and quality teams to ensure all materials meet regulatory standards and quality benchmarks.
Commercial Management:
Oversee pricing, margins, and profitability of products.
Analyse market conditions to identify growth opportunities and inform product development.
Work with operations and marketing teams to develop competitive product offerings.
Provide strategic insights on market positioning, competition, and customer trends.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to ensure their needs are met.
Conduct supply chain risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
Monitor customer satisfaction and collaborate with internal teams to address any concerns.
The Person:
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Nutrition, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience in Irish agriculture or agribusiness.
Strong knowledge of the Irish agriculture market, including commodities and pricing.
Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and supply chain optimization.
Financial acumen with the ability to analyse market data and make strategic decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
