We are currently recruiting for 1.0 WTE Simulation Nurse Educator (CNM3) contractor vacancy. This is a temporary 12-month term role, on a contractor basis, contracted for full-time hours. This post is aligned to the CNM3 Pay Scales.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Mercy University Hospital (MUH), course/programme leaders and the MUH Simulation Based Education Steering Committee to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate simulation-based education and events across undergraduate and post graduate healthcare profession areas.
* Provide professional and clinical leadership in the simulation department and oversee the management of resources and development.
* Take a leadership role in the development of the simulation facility and the promotion of simulation methodologies, in line with standards of best practice and support the delivery and implementation of the National Strategy for Simulation.
* Work collaboratively with the MUH Simulation Based Education Steering Committee and stakeholders to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate interprofessional simulation-based education and events, learning objectives, case scenarios, programme planning and evaluation methodologies utilising the clinical simulation facility.
* Provide technical support to the simulation facility including updating & problem-solving for the simulation-related equipment, including any software and hardware related issues, if these arise.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Be registered in the relevant Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI].
* Be willing to complete the programme to undertake a Diploma Programme in Healthcare Simulation and Patient Safety, if not already in ownership of this qualification, within the first year of appointment.
* Have at least 5 years post registration full-time (or an aggregate of 5 years post registration full-time) experience, of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full-time experience) must be in the specialty or related area.
* Have the clinical, managerial, administrative and technical capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
* Must possess the requisite knowledge, leadership and management ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
