Strategic Finance Leader
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with Finance Managers, bringing a strategic mindset, process implementation, system integration, and influencing skills to a newly created position. If you have experience in shared services environments or Big 4 firms in advisory or global mobility services, or have implemented payroll processes at scale, this could be the ideal job for you.
You will gain director-level visibility in a publicly listed company, with opportunities for career progression both at site level and on global projects from our Galway base. You will collaborate with leaders across the business to achieve operational excellence in finance processes and procedures.
As a strategic leader, you will lead a talented team of four who process payroll for over 4,000 Irish-based employees fully in-house to an exceptionally high standard. Your responsibilities will include helping them document their processes, creating SOPs, and integrating best-in-class systems to streamline the weekly and monthly payroll process.
Your focus will be on identifying efficient ways to deliver high-quality payroll, rather than processing it directly. You will influence across the organization to make this happen and be fully supported by IT and Operations Excellence teams to integrate systems and report to Finance Director level.
You will also bring technical value through your experience as a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), particularly in areas such as intercompany recharges, employment tax, or global mobility. Your forward-thinking approach will help prepare the multi-billion turnover manufacturing company for legislative changes pertaining to payroll and ensure full audit compliance.
Previous experience that will help you excel in this strategic job includes operational excellence or change management experience relating to a finance area, ideally but not necessarily payroll, from within a large multinational company or shared services environment.
We are interested in speaking to individuals with in-depth technical knowledge in payroll, employment tax, or global mobility from an advisory firm who now want to take that experience to a multinational company within industry.
The benefits package is worth €100,000-€110,000 and includes a strong base salary, annual bonus, car allowance, company pension contributions, share option scheme, income continuance, life assurance, hybrid working of 2 days a week from home, and a half day each Friday.
