Senior Music Therapist -Permanent, 4 days per week (Mon to Fri), 9am - 5pm
Highfield Healthcare is looking for a dedicated and talented Senior Music Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the holistic care of our patients and residents through the healing power of music.
Purpose of the role
* Deliver music therapy programs across the ‘Approved Centre’ to residents who have dementia and BPSD, residents with enduring mental health conditions, service users engaged in a specialist rehabilitation program for schizophrenia-related illness, service users in acute care, and service users in Day Hospital Programs.
* Utilize a variety of music therapy techniques to work towards goals specifically created for individuals or groups, based on assessments of clients' strengths, needs, and personal preferences.
* Demonstrate strong proficiency in playing and improvising on multiple instruments.
* Exhibit a deep understanding of music therapy techniques and their application in mental health and elderly care.
* Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Show empathy, creativity, and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
* Hold a Masters in Music Therapy.
* Be registered with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists.
* Have at least 5 years of experience delivering music therapy programs in clinical settings, ideally in mental health, rehabilitation, and/or older adult services.
* Have experience in mental health rehabilitation and/or acute mental health care.
* Have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Have experience developing music therapy services.
* Have experience in clinical supervision.
* Possess teaching and/or research experience.
* Have experience in leading a clinical team.

The post holder will satisfy the occupational health requirements of the post and thereafter demonstrate their capability through satisfactory attendance. Each post holder must be of good character and satisfy the Garda Clearance requirements. The post holder also has a duty of care to be responsible for job-specific safety and to comply with all health and safety requirements within Highfield Healthcare.
