Job Description
We are seeking a Professionally Qualified Social Worker (PQSW) to specialise in the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work with adults at risk, their families, and other professionals to protect individuals from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough safeguarding assessments and develop tailored intervention plans to protect vulnerable adults.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support and effective case management.
* Provide direct support to individuals with trauma histories, employing trauma-informed approaches.
* Engage with adults at risk, their families, and carers to ensure their voices are central to decision-making.
* Investigate safeguarding concerns in line with local and national policies and procedures.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and reports.
* Deliver training or awareness sessions for colleagues and partners on adult safeguarding and trauma-related issues.
* Participate in professional supervision, training, and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements:
* A degree in Social Work and current registration with CORU.
* Proven experience in adult safeguarding, including handling complex cases.
* Expertise in working with individuals affected by trauma, with knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in challenging and emotionally sensitive situations.
Desirable Skills:
* Training or certification in trauma-informed practices or related therapeutic approaches.
* Experience in delivering safeguarding training or workshops.
