Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
The role holder will lead the environmental, health and safety (EHS) function for the organisation, driving compliance and continuous improvement in process, culture & behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement an EHS strategy for the Arrabawn Group and provide leadership to ensure that the highest standard of EHS performance is achieved and sustained.
* The provision of active management and support to the EHS team.
* Support the Senior Management Team in fulfilling their statutory duties through the management of risk and compliance with current environment, health and safety legislation.
* Oversee and support the effective implementation of the sites EHS Management Systems to ensure legal compliance and continuous improvement, while maintaining the organisations ISO Standards.
* Manage budget and deliver continuous monitoring, auditing and reporting on EHS performance to enable senior management allocate suitable resources and to plan and implement their business safety objectives.
* Oversee regulatory compliance to the Industrial Emissions Licence (IEL) & GHG permit and the implementation of processes and systems that reduce environmental impacts.
* Plan, develop and coordinate the company's EHS risk management programme.
* Provide ongoing briefings with management and employees at all levels on EHS impacts within the business.
* Support management in the development and implementation of safe operating procedures.
* Manage and embed the Arrabawn reporting culture of all matters pertaining EHS.
* Develop, implement and monitor the effectiveness of emergency response procedures.
* Support external audits, inspections and accreditation assessments with a designated element of EHS.
* Use suitable key performance indicators to monitor and report to senior management on safety & environmental performance.
* Support project managers to plan and deliver construction and upgrade projects safely.
* Develop and implement health promotion programmes within the business.
* Provide support and advice to safety representatives and safety committees at various locations.
* Manage all correspondence with regulatory bodies.
* Manage the company's EHS training needs analysis for all employees within the organisation Carry out site inspections on a regular basis in conjunction with local management.
* Monitor the effectiveness of procedures for the management of contractors.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
* EHS qualification to QQI level 8 or above.
* Knowledgeable on current Irish legislation.
* Experience managing an EHS Management System.
* A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
* Experience managing an IPPC/IEL licence and familiar with the principles of wastewater treatment.
* Strong understanding of Irish environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and industry practices.
* Proven cultural & behavioural change experience.
* Ability to influence at all levels in the organisation.
* Flexibility to travel between the company's different locations.
* Ability to work on own initiative with the minimum of direction.
