Role summary
The National Concert Hall (NCH) is seeking suitable applicants for the role of Finance Supervisor (Box Office). Reporting to the Box Office and Sales Manager the post of Finance Supervisor (Box Office) encompasses managing all aspects of finance management and reporting through the Box Office while assisting with supervising Box Office Agents, managing a large number of events and delivering the highest standards of customer and staff care.
Key Responsibilities
The role of Box Office Finance Supervisor is a key position in the Box Office Management Team within the NCH and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
1. Box Office Finance Management
Ensure all established NCH procedures regarding cash handling, banking, sales reconciliations, credit card transactions and financial reporting are accurately followed
Complete all required financial reports and accurately complete the daily accounts diary of Box Office transactions in a timely manner
Liaise with the NCH card payment processor and ensure all card payments are processed correctly
Responsible for the daily balancing and financial aspects of the Box Office and supervision of cash handling procedures for all income
Providing timely reports and liaise with auditors regarding any Box Office finance matters when required to do so
2. Event Management
Operating show management for events, including guest lists, seat changes, running reports etc.
Communicate effectively any relevant event information to Box Office Agents in a timely manner, facilitating a smooth incoming audience experience.
Liaise and advise promoters regarding their events, during set-ups, on-sale and on the date of the event, as required.
3. People Management
On an agreed rota, supervising Box Office staff, including managing breaks, resolving any issues, arranging cover where necessary.
Training Box Office Agents in all financial aspects of the role.
Support the team in all aspects of customer service including dealing with any issues relating to NCH sales channels
4. Systems Management
Contribute to work on AudienceView (NCH's ticketing system); running reports, setting up events, managing events and promotions
Using NCH's ICT systems to remain in regular communication with other members of BOMT to update on issues, changes etc.
Creating and editing event-related webpages on nch.ie as required
Assisting the Box Office Supervisor with data management of Audience Segmentation

The Person
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of:
Minimum 2 years' experience in reporting and balancing daily financial transactions across several sales channels; cash, card payments, Gift Cards, cheques
Experience in AudienceView (NCH's ticketing system), and/or other comparable ticketing systems
Exceptional attention to detail in administrative and finance management.
Minimum 2 years' experience in customer service role with proven customer care and empathy skills
Experience in staff supervision, with some experience of leading and managing a team.
A positive approach, and a commitment to upholding the NCH values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.
Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to overcome obstacles by seeking alternative solutions.
Proven abilities to develop administrative processes to improve efficiency.
Experience with Office 365, and/or other similar ICT systems
An understanding and experience of Data regulation Protections, including the Data Protection Act, 2018, and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Desirable Requirements
The following requirements are desirable:
Experience working in the cultural sector, ideally in an administrative capacity
Experience in event management is desirable
Organisational Requirements
To work towards the achievement of the NCH's organisational goals.
To maintain the NCH's high standard of customer care across all areas of organisational activity.
To use IT and digital applications to service the post's needs
To remain up to date with, and aware of, all upcoming events at NCH and developments within the NCH and its work.
As the role requires handling, processing and recording of personal and restricted information, confidentiality is required at all times and knowledge of GDPR is essential

Salary and Pay Arrangements
The NCH Box Office Supervisor salary scale applies (rates effective from 1st March 2025) as follows:
€38,311 €40,057 €41,035 €42,270 €43,511 €44,744 €45,979 €47,213 €48,452 €49,792 €50,925
Starting Salary
Entry will be at the minimum of the scale - €38,311 per annum. The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
