Position Title: Project Engineer
Department: Make Asset Management – Engineering Projects
Reports To: Engineering Manager / Principal Project Delivery Engineer
Position Summary:
As part of the Engineering Project Delivery Team, this contract role focuses on supporting project scoping, commissioning, qualification, validation, and start-up operations at a leading Innovative Medicine site. Key activities include managing engineering projects to meet safety, quality, budget, and timeline goals.
General Activities:
* Lead the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and business objectives.
* Scope and secure capital approval for new projects.
* Lead and support commissioning and qualification activities.
* Communicate effectively with management and stakeholders.
* Coordinate with specialist trades, departments, and third-party suppliers.
* Manage project documentation, cost estimation, scheduling, and progress reporting.
* Conduct risk management, constructability, and maintainability studies.
* Organize and coordinate project meetings, and provide necessary training.
* Ensure project completion adheres to change management procedures.
* Review project performance and lessons learned.
* Participate in and lead cross-functional teams.
Scope of Responsibilities:
* Ensure safe work practices and adherence to environmental regulations.
* Complete tasks in compliance with corporate, GMP/EHS standards, and site procedures.
* Maintain accurate documentation and prioritize activities to support business needs.
* Complete personal training as required and support cross-functional studies.
* Lead by example, aiming for high performance standards.
Leadership Responsibilities / Individual Contribution:
* Report to the Principal Project Delivery Engineer/Engineering Manager.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
* Lead investigations and cross-functional project teams.
* Collaborate effectively, share ideas for improvement, and support company goals.
Organizational Interfaces:
* Interface with all site departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and more.
* Maintain awareness of internal customer needs and fulfill their requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Degree in Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Science.
* Desirable:
* Experience with engineering projects in a GMP environment.
* Project Management qualification.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and business systems like SAP or LIMs.
* Training in problem-solving methodologies like 6-Sigma.
* Experience in a multinational corporate environment.
