About your role:
Two 100MW flexible gas fired peaking power plants are currently being constructed in Athlone and Dublin.

Develop, implement and carry out inspections and maintenance plans on the power plant systems to ensure the consistent generation of electricity to meet Eirgrid requirements, achieving best business value in compliance with health and safety standards, environmental licence requirements and other statutory requirements.
Management of plant underperformance issues, including plant and equipment failures, promptly so that the availability and reliability of the power plant is maximised.
Investigate complex technical problems on power plant systems by identifying and diagnosing the root cause of such problems and ensuring continuous improvement to avoid reoccurrence.
Management of improvement projects and in collaboration with the wider O&M Team, identify and implement solutions to technical problems and defects to optimise plant performance and meet operational targets.
Ownership of key contracts by developing and agreeing the scope and commercial terms through to supervising and monitoring the safe delivery and performance of external contractors.
Provide highly flexible on-call cover for out of hours (nights and weekends), on a rostered basis, to respond to technical issues that might arise.
Prepare work method statements, risk assessments and standard operating procedures for inspections and maintenance activities.
Implementation of critical permit to work systems and adherence to safe working practices and procedures at all times.
Here's what we're looking for:
Minimum trade qualification in an electrical, control and instrumentation field or a mechanical engineering field.
A Cert/Diploma/Senior Trades in engineering or equivalent is required.
A minimum of five years of experience within the power generation industry or similar is desirable.
Experience and technical knowledge of power station maintenance or maintenance practices in similar heavy process industries.
Experience in the maintenance of electrical, control & instrumentation systems in a power generation environment (or a similar environment with complex control and instrumentation systems) OR experience in the operation and maintenance of prime movers (such as CHP engines, diesel generators, heavy plant/marine engines, etc.)
