About The Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn.
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role
The successful candidate will be actively engaged in the administration and support of Land Development Agency, LDA IT systems, primarily responsible for the administration of our SharePoint environment, including design, implementation, and maintenance of workflows and other features. This position requires expertise in SharePoint administration, a strong understanding of collaboration tools, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business units.
Reporting to the IT Operations & Security Manager, the primary role of the IT Systems Administrator is to assist the IT Operations & Security Manager in managing and maintaining the critical IT functions of the LDA.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
1. Systems Administration: Manage and administer SharePoint and other systems environments. Configure and customise SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows.
2. Collaboration and Integration Solutions: Work closely with business units to understand document management & collaboration requirements. Work with the solution provider to design and implement solutions using SharePoint and other tools as appropriate. Integrate SharePoint with other business systems and applications as needed.
3. Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users and other IT staff. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and best practices.
4. Systems Management: Implement and manage data retention, backup and recovery processes for systems data. Ensure the integrity and availability of data. Working with the solution provider & other IT support vendors to plan and execute systems upgrades, ensuring that the environment is kept up to date.
5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor systems performance and conduct regular optimisation activities. Implement improvements to enhance system performance. Measure vendor performance and participate in vendor performance reviews.
6. Troubleshooting and Support: Work with business units and systems support vendors to ensure they provide support & advice to end-users.
7. Security & Access Controls: Manage user roles and access controls, ensuring security best practices are upheld. Collaborate with the IT Manager to enforce data protection and access control policies.
Essential Experience/knowledge
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial or public sector corporate environment.
2. Technical Degree to bachelor level or other related third level qualification.
3. Relevant experience including document management systems and process analysis.
4. A good understanding of best practice Information Security.
5. Experience of aligning IT solutions with business needs.
6. Proven ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
7. Understanding of aligning IT orientated solutions to business needs and requirements.
8. Experience working with modern cloud-based technologies.
Desirable
1. Certification in SharePoint Administration.
2. Experience with SharePoint migration projects.
3. Experience with Power Automate.
4. Knowledge of PowerShell and SharePoint scripting.
