Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Nursing will oversee the provision of high-quality care to residents and their families at Clearbrook Nursing Home, ensuring consistency with the home's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and maintain resident safety, respecting dignity, privacy, and rights.
* Develop relationships with residents, facilitating autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making.
* Manage the nursing home to maximize resident capacity for personal autonomy and choice.
* Ensure effective communication with residents, family members, and visitors.
* Foster a restraint-free environment, responding to challenging behavior in a non-restrictive manner.
* Safeguard resident property, possessions, and finances.
* Respect resident confidentiality and protect their personal information.
* Lead by example, promoting a professional, punctual, and dedicated team.
* Oversee financial expenditure, value for money, and supplier management.
* Ensure staff and residents are aware of health and safety procedures.
Staff Management:
* Recruit, develop, and supervise staff, facilitating education, training, and supervision as needed.
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels to provide safe and effective care.
* Train staff on safeguarding residents, whistleblowing, and abuse prevention.
* Communicate effectively with residents and ensure staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills to manage challenging behavior.
Infection Prevention and Control:
* SUPPORT STAFF COMPETENCE IN STANDARD PRECAUTIONS
* IMPLEMENT WHO'S 'FIVE MOMENTS OF HAND HYGIENE' PRINCIPLES
* SUPPORT DIRECTOR OF NURSING IN IMPLEMENTATION OF ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR IPC
Quality and Safety Management System:
* SUPPORT AND IMPLEMENT QUALITY AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, INCLUDING RESIDENT INVOLVEMENT
* IDENFY AND REVIEW KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS FOR CLEARBROOK NURSING HOME
* MANAGE INCIDENT MANAGEMENT PROCESS AND RISK MANAGEMENT PROCESS
Regulatory Compliance:
* Evaluate LEGISLATION, REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS, BEST PRACTICE, AND RELEVANT CODES OF PRACTICE
* MANAGE MEDICATION ORDERING, STORAGE, ADMINISTRATION, AND RECORD REQUIREMENTS
* ACT AS POINT OF CONTACT FOR INSPECTION AND REGULATORY AGENCIES AND COMPLY WITH REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
