Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Management Lead

We are hiring an experienced IT DR and BCM Lead to join our client's growing Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, testing, and improving disaster recovery and business continuity plans across the organisation.
The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and managed service partners to ensure the organisation is well-prepared for potential disruptions. This position requires strong leadership, risk management, and project coordination skills to drive excellence in disaster recovery and business continuity disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, maintain, and improve enterprise-level Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) strategies.
2. Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to identify critical business functions and dependencies.
3. Coordinate regular DR and BCM testing to validate response plans and ensure operational readiness.
4. Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and risk management functions to align DR and BCM plans with organisational objectives.
5. Manage relationships with third-party service providers to ensure contractual DR and BCM obligations are met.
6. Lead post-incident root cause analysis and develop remediation plans for continuous improvement.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
8. Provide training and awareness programs for employees on disaster recovery and business continuity best practices.
9. Stay informed on emerging threats, technologies, and best practices related to DR and BCM.
Skills & Experience Required
1. 2+ years of experience in a similar DR and BCM role.
2. 5+ years of general IT experience with exposure to infrastructure, security, or risk management.
3. Hands-on experience with enterprise-level DR testing, including data center failovers and cloud-based recovery strategies.
4. Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and business-critical applications.
5. Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) and compliance requirements.
6. Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
7. Experience working with third-party vendors and managed service providers in DR/BCM initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
