The AWS Network Alerts team is looking for Software Development Engineers to build highly scalable monitoring systems for one of the world's largest and most complex networks.
Millions of customers depend on this infrastructure—whether for shopping on Amazon, streaming content on Kindle, or building their businesses on AWS.

As an SDE, you'll work on large-scale distributed systems that process trillions of events per hour, leveraging anomaly detection and rule engines to proactively detect and remediate network impairments before they cause impact.

About the teamAWS Network Alerts is responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of one of the AWS's core network monitoring and detection engines.
We work on some of the most complex and data-intensive challenges, analyzing thousands of variables impacting AWS's global network.
Our team includes software, systems, and data engineers, scientists, technical program managers, and software managers, all working together to solve massive-scale monitoring challenges.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSExperience (non-internship) in professional software developmentExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsExperience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented designKnowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellenceExperience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentExperience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processingExperience with Kafka or similar distributed pubsub systems and stream processing engines like kstream, Spark, Flink etc.
