About the Role
We are seeking an EHS Engineer to join our team at a leading Life Sciences company in Cork.
This is a full-time, permanent role where you will take the lead in establishing and enforcing high EHS standards across operations.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough EHS assessments and approvals for all process and equipment changes within the operation.
* Maintaining collaborative relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement effective EHS strategies.
* Leading audits and inspections, compiling EHS metrics and KPIs data, and identifying trends for both Corporate EHS and site management.
* Overseeing EHS systems (including Chemical Management, Accident/Incident Reporting, Occupational Monitoring, etc.), and leading or participating in Root Cause Investigations as needed.
* Interpreting regulatory changes and providing guidance to Cork site operations to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, including IE Licensing and ISO45001/ISO14001 standards.
* Identifying opportunities to continuously enhance a proactive EHS culture within the organization.
Requirements:
* Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, minimum 3 years post-qualification experience required.
* Extensive experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, particularly in Life Science or Pharmaceutical sectors.
* Strong experience in chemical management system and machine safety, as well as regulatory knowledge and IE Licensing is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
