Siemens PLC Engineer – Wastewater & Pharma Projects (Dublin, Ireland)
We are seeking a skilled Siemens PLC Engineer to support automation projects within wastewater treatment and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors in Dublin. This role will involve PLC programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning for industrial automation systems. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, ensuring the seamless operation of Siemens PLC-based control systems.
Wastewater Treatment Projects:
PLC Programming & Optimisation – Develop, configure, and modify Siemens PLC (S7, TIA Portal) control systems for wastewater treatment plants.
SCADA & HMI Integration – Implement and maintain SCADA/HMI systems to monitor and control water treatment processes.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance – Diagnose faults and optimise control systems for enhanced efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
Testing & Commissioning – Support on-site commissioning, functional testing, and validation of automation systems.
Documentation & Compliance – Ensure all programming changes adhere to industry standards and environmental regulations.
Pharmaceutical Automation Projects:
GMP-Compliant Automation – Develop and maintain Siemens PLC systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring compliance with GAMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU GMP guidelines.
Process Control & Batch Automation – Configure PLCs for clean utilities, packaging, and process automation within pharma production lines.
Data Integrity & Validation – Ensure automation systems support data integrity and meet validation requirements.
Integration with MES & SCADA Systems – Work with SCADA, MES, and IT/OT teams to ensure seamless plant-wide automation.
Regulatory & Compliance Support – Assist in system validation, audits, and technical documentation to comply with pharma industry standards.
Key Requirements:
3+ years of experience in Siemens PLC programming (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC, PCS7 preferred).
Experience in wastewater treatment or pharmaceutical automation (preferably both).
Strong understanding of SCADA, HMI, and industrial networking protocols.
Familiarity with GMP, GAMP, and FDA/EU regulatory compliance (for pharma projects).
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control system diagrams.
Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting in an industrial automation environment.
Full work authorization for Ireland/EU (visa sponsorship options to be discussed).
Desirable (Bonus Skills):
Experience with batch process automation in the pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge of WinCC, PCS7, or integration with MES systems.
Background in industrial water treatment processes or biotech manufacturing.
Exposure to IoT-based automation and cloud integration.
