Job Title: Finance Systems Manager
Role Summary
The Finance Systems Team sits within the Finance Technology and Operations (FTO) section, supporting our client's shared service model by providing a range of financial and transaction support services to all business areas within the Company.
This role provides strategic systems direction, system administration, and first line support of Finance’s key systems, delivering key reporting and payment services. A strong control environment and a high level of service are key deliverables to Finance’s customers. Operating in a stimulating and diverse sector, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a finance systems specialist to support change and improvement in the FTO team’s service delivery.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the operation of the relevant finance systems and drive the strategic direction of finance systems.
2. Ensure consistent and efficient operation of key finance systems, including general ledger, staff expenses system, purchase to pay system, and fixed asset system.
3. Manage helpdesk for frontline issues experienced by users of finance systems.
4. Ensure integrations with other systems in use in the organization are efficient.
5. Manage the implementation of systems upgrades.
6. Oversee a team of 2 direct reports, allocating tasks and ensuring deadlines are met while promoting team development.
7. Maintain a strongly controlled systems environment.
8. Troubleshoot finance system issues and escalate as required.
9. Liaise with the ICT team regarding scheduled system updates that impact finance systems.
10. Provide user training and maintain user manuals on finance systems.
11. Provide regular KPI reporting to management.
12. Lead the implementation of process improvements, automation, and digital transformation within the finance function.
13. Support finance system users to resolve issues and develop innovative solutions leveraging existing technology.
14. Manage vendor contracts.
15. Contribute to and support a range of projects within the team.
Skills:
1. High level of initiative, motivation, commitment, and professionalism.
2. Excellent interpersonal and written skills with the ability to form good working relationships.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate innovative solutions.
4. Experience of system upgrades/system implementation is an advantage.
5. Experience of AI and/or RPA is an advantage.
Knowledge:
1. At least 4 years’ experience in finance systems.
2. Systems and/or accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are advantageous.
3. Knowledge of financial systems, such as general ledger systems, Purchase2Pay, staff expenses, and fixed assets systems.
4. Knowledge of Infor SunSystems and Infor Q&A is advantageous.
5. Understanding of the role of financial systems in maintaining a strong control environment.
