Full time position available for a Health and Safety Officer who will be responsible for management of inspection records. Some travel across sites required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Promote safe working practices and the implementation of company policy and procedures across all projects and offices.
2. Ensuring client responsibilities under relevant legislative Acts are implemented across all projects and within the office.
3. Carry out regular site inspections on projects and report findings to relevant personnel.
4. Review contractor project safety and health plans against legislative requirements and standards.
5. Monitor the adequacy and timely close out of incident reporting and inspections.
6. Random review Contractors Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures and Safety Statements.
7. Assist with incident investigations identifying and utilization of root cause analysis processes and that corrective actions are implemented without delay.
8. Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
9. Assist in developing and implementing guidelines, processes, and documentation to support the Company in addressing and enforcing the required standards, within health & safety, environmental and quality legislation.
10. Collaborate with relevant colleagues on employee training records.
Strong time management and communication skills are essential to this role, as well as computer literacy and the ability to prepare reports and administer the necessary paperwork.
Key Requirements:
1. Hold a relevant 3rd level degree qualification in Health & Safety.
2. At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
3. Experience with relevant SHEQ standards and management systems.
4. Excellent knowledge of relevant Safety, Health & Welfare legislation, and regulations.
5. Have a positive attitude with a passion to succeed, an energetic approach and an ability to take accountability.
6. Be conscientious, have excellent attention to detail and an ability to multitask.

2. Personality – good to work with people and approachable demeanour, collaborative, good communication skills.
3. Construction interest and experience background with residential is desirable.
