What this Job Entails:
The System Administrator is expected to facilitate operational support to and on behalf of the assigned team. The assigned team supports and maintains a variety of large and global scale systems for building management and physical security operations. The skill set required is industry typical 'systems administration', including working knowledge of various networking systems. Work is ticket based, and the team would be expected to procedurally work through tickets (submitted via a template) to resolution.
Scope:
1. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
2. Works on problems of moderate scope
3. Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
4. Responsible for planning the server onto racks, arranging the server mounting
5. Install the operating systems for new mounted servers
6. Responsible for reinstalling the server operation systems, solving the abnormalities.
7. Responsible for the daily server maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and follow-up break-fix of the server and other hardware
8. Maintain data on internal systems including asset management, ticketing, rack related data
9. Work with remote vendors or other teams to solve hardware batch failures and problems
10. On call on duty, responsible for dealing with the problems raised by the business owner side
11. Collect and check online assets status or issues
12. Erase drives or other configurations for retiring or relocating servers.
13. Provide retrofitting or test feedback for tools/systems/platforms.
14. Submit and track the part RMA or media destruction process
15. Server network troubleshooting
16. Server lifecycle management
17. Other server operation related work
18. Tidy and escalate problems to senior SOE
Required Qualifications/Skills:
19. Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer science, Electrical engineering or any other relevant fields
20. Strong ability to work under pressure; Strong learning ability, broad technical interest;
21. Strong sense of responsibility, full of enthusiasm for work
22. Good communication skills in English, good team work spirit; Has ability to work independently
23. Knowledge of the interdependencies of server functions and technologies
24. Can understand and run simple Shell/Bash scripts
25. Familiar with Linux system, able to locate hardware faults; Strong analytical and problem solving skills
26. Basic network knowledge concepts - MAC, Subnet, TCP/IP; Ability to perform general troubleshooting
27. Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI

28. Automation and scripting experience
