Tier 1 residential developer has a unique opportunity for a high calibre, senior commercial professional with quantity surveying, estimating skills to join the Cost Planning Team, to assist in the provision of quantity surveying services under the direction of senior management undertaking pre-contract duties.
Plans granted for thousands of units both housing & apartments in Leinster, Munster, and Connaught. Initial focus on the commuter corridors to Dublin with both motorway and rail connectivity.
This role is diverse and will include interpreting information from live and completed projects along with the measurement of planned works to help robustly project construction costs for upcoming and prospective projects. It will also involve contributing to the decision-making process driving key project decisions at various stages through acquisition and design development. The role comes with flexible working conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a senior member of the cost planning team tasked with the preparation of cost plans from early feasibility through to detailed cost planning ready for handover to project team.
2. Participation in design team meetings through the design phases offering cost advice to ensure the financial viability of the project without compromising the design.
3. Liaison with project delivery teams ensuring construction budgets for upcoming developments are robust.
4. Interrogation of current project exit costs to ensure real time cost data is informing new projects.
5. Development / maintenance of a databank of construction costs to assist the ongoing Cost Estimation and Financial Appraisal process.
6. Prepare Part V applications to Local Authorities and follow those submissions to ensure compliance is achieved.
7. Attend meetings and undertake site visits.
