We’re a FTSE 100 organisation tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050.
The role
Standard Life is expanding the marketing function, and as a result, a Communications Manager role has arisen. This key role will focus on communication with Advisers and Customers, delivering marketing campaigns, projects, and initiatives that enhance Standard Life's corporate brand and reputation while achieving sustained competitive advantage. All activities will be aligned with overall business goals in maintaining and growing our funds under management.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the impact of raising our share of voice and be responsible for the continuous improvement of our communications strategy. We are looking for marketing-focused individuals to join our team in the BI&A and Marketing area, driving positive action and results for our advisers and customers through the development of our communication strategy.
What are we looking for?
Reporting directly to the Head of BI&A and Marketing, the successful candidate will lead a team of three marketers who will design and execute direct marketing and email campaigns, digital and social strategy, and events. This role will also influence our PR and Trade activation, ensuring compliance with the rules guiding our communications strategy and delivering best-in-class Marcoms.
The individual will provide leadership in Communications strategy, guiding the team to deliver measurable success. Setting the benchmark in Year 1 will enable the communications strategy to improve its effectiveness, with a primary focus on increasing engagement with advisers and customers. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to communicate and influence across all business areas and at various levels.
To deliver in this role, the candidate will have:
* Campaign experience and understanding of the role data and messaging play in improving audience engagement.
* Knowledge of websites and how to integrate web content into the brand story.
* Understanding of the role, limitations, and ability to push boundaries on social marketing within a highly regulated financial services industry.
* Strong appreciation of the regulation governing the MarComs process and the ability to influence stakeholders to follow best practices.
Digital and Social Strategy
* Implement a programme of continuous improvement on websites to ensure excellent visitor experiences.
* Work with the digital marketer to design and implement a social marketing strategy that supports our brand and raises its market position.
Direct Marketing
* Collaborate with the Email marketer and BI&A team to design and implement a direct communications strategy that positions and supports our propositions on Second Life and Retirement Specialist.
* Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with advisers and customers through tailored communications.
* Curate valuable content to be shared with our segments in line with business objectives.
Event Management
* Take event briefs from other members of the Marketing team and work with our Events exec to deliver.
* Design campaigns to support events, maximizing attendance and value for our advisers.
* Identify opportunities for more events based on communication engagement.
* Ensure the Communications team is familiar with the rules and regulations for MarComs and delivers best-in-class.
* Collaborate with teams such as UK Marketing, Group Internal Audit, and Compliance to ensure we are up to speed and challenge where regulation limits us.
We want to hire the whole version of you.
