As a member of the financial planning team, the Business Partner is responsible for assisting and liaising with the relevant UE member; department/project lead in the financial pre and post award of externally funded grants and projects (non-research). The role will require the Business Partner to assist the relevant department/project lead with the full financial lifecycle of the grant or project from pre-award support including assisting with budget preparation, financial review of contracts prior to signature, review of grant financial terms and conditions, appraisal of the financial aspects of their project funding, review of financial reports prepared by project lead and assisting with any subsequent financial audits.
The role is to act as a ‘translator’ and be the first point of contact between departments and finance, assisting with the implementation of university policies along with ensuring that financial terms and conditions of contracts are followed. The business partner must both challenge and coach each department to ensure success in the role.
Salary: Senior Administrative Officer IV (2025): €67,981 – €107,942 p.a. (7 points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
