The Role
The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all maintenance activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, ensuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
Responsibilities
• Supervise employees, allocate work, coordinate training and address issues as they arise up to the counselling stage of the disciplinary process.
• Ensure adherence to Attendance Management policy.
• Recruit and select technicians for assigned departments.
• Manage performance by preparing, assessing, and conducting 121s and appraisals, including end-year reviews and contract staff appraisals.
• Sign off Time and Attendance on a weekly basis accurately and correctly.
• Provide a safe and injury-free workplace for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation and adhere to safety procedures and requirements.
• Partner with the Quality department to ensure compliance with Quality Standards.
• Foster a culture of right first time (RFT) to ensure product quality.
• Assess equipment issues and reliability based on gathered data and statistical analysis, and apply effective methods of preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure resource deployment is efficient.
• Follow SAP Next procedures.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8+ years' experience in an engineering or maintenance leadership role, preferably in the Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical Industry.
• Trades qualification an advantage.
• Demonstrated high-performance history, proven ability to execute and achieve results.
• Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Strong project management experience.
• Ability to influence within a matrix organization with direct and indirect authority.
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with planning and executing change in a high-work-paced environment.
• Keen ability to teach and coach.
• Preferable experience with SAP Next/PM system.
• Preferable experience with Calibration System.
• Previous experience in an ATEX environment an advantage.
• Familiar with planned preventative and proactive maintenance approaches.
• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety.
• Analytical with experience in Lean six sigma methodologies.
• Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organisational, time management, and planning ability.
• Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Methodical Work Approach.
