Job Title: Associate Cost Manager

Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate actively in the tender/bid process, from initial documentation through analysis and reporting.
2. Analyse tenders/bids to ensure client value for money.
3. Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts, including handling claims to deliver best value to clients.
4. Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
5. Oversee project spend by creating valuations and cost reports, communicating variations clearly to the team.
6. Support nimble project management and clear decision-making through excellent cost documentation and timely communication.
7. Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency.
8. Engage new clients and repeat projects with existing clients using business development skills.
9. Foster top performance and growth for employees via excellent mentorship and leadership.
Key Focus:
This role has a specialised focus on post-contract fit-out for a life sciences project. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring efficient post-contract phase management, with a strong emphasis on quality, budget control, and timely delivery.
Requirements:
1. Be an experienced cost manager on large-scale construction projects with increasing levels of leadership.
2. Be chartered or on the path to completing it; support will be provided.
3. Have a degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
4. Have significant experience in pre- and post-contract cost management, particularly with fit-out projects in the life sciences sector.
5. Be an excellent communicator verbally and in writing.
6. Thrive on building strong relationships with the team and clients through shared purpose and openness.
