Overview:
Our objective is to develop more environmentally sustainable products. We require people for predominantly on-site testing of Bituminous products for our Contract surfacing division. The role would also require secondary additional laboratory-based quality control testing and research of aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and bituminous binders.

We are currently seeking a Construction Materials Technician to join our team in the Munster area.
As a Construction Materials Technician, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively assisting in the quality assurance of quarrying and surfacing products, conducting onsite and offsite materials testing, and updating electronic records.
More about what you will do…
* Test and sample aggregate, concrete, bituminous, unbound and earthworks materials including grading analysis, binder content and physical, chemical, and mechanical testing in a safe and efficient manner.
* Conduct daily organoleptic checks for lab, production facilities and all stockpiles.
* Maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory.
* Maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
* Record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
* Calibrate all testing equipment.
* Prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies.
* Undertake daily laboratory equipment checks.
* Investigate all material related complaints & provide suitable & sufficient feedback & evidence to support.
What we need from you…
* Previous experience in sampling and testing of construction materials or transferable skills from other employment types (as full training will be provided).
* Awareness to work safely on a construction site or production depot.
* Willingness to be flexible in your working pattern.
* Physical ability to carry out sampling and handling of bulky materials.
* Capacity to operate mechanical equipment such as an asphalt road coring drill.
* Hold a full driving licence and be capable of operating a small sized commercial van.
* Enjoy interactions with internal customers, external contributors, and auditors.
* Tolerance for and ability to handle the administration of paperwork.
* Planning, organising and problem-solving attitude.
* Ability to work on your own initiative.
