As a result of ongoing business growth, we are currently recruiting for a number of Mechanics and Diagnostics Technicians to join our aftersales team.
The role of a Motor Mechanic / Diagnostics Technician involves the use of diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.
Understand problems as and when required.
Repairing vehicles and conducting maintenance checks to ensure the automobile is in good running order.
High-quality mechanics/technicians are an essential part of ensuring road safety and preventing accidents.
The candidate must have excellent technical knowledge of a wide array of vehicles.
The typical duties include:
Conducting vehicle checks to see if repairs are necessary and the level of urgency required.
To carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to vehicles in accordance with manufacturers guidelines Fitting of various wear & tear parts.
Testing automobiles to ensure the repairs were successful.
This process may necessitate a road test.
Changing tyres, balancing & alignment of wheels.
Standard servicing of vehicles.
Conducting pre NCT / DOE inspections on vehicles.
Working with car accessory databases and requesting parts.
Updating vehicle maintenance records.
Maintaining work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
Completing work within company standards.
Skills A reasonable degree of fitness.
The ability to work alone without instruction or as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with colleagues and customers.
Strong organisational skills and a deep level of concentration.
A methodical nature with outstanding attention to detail.
A genuine interest in motor vehicles.
The capacity to work to deadlines.
Must speak fluent English.
Must have a full clean Irish/European Driving License.
Education & Experience Candidate must have completed all phases of the Motor Mechanic apprenticeship.
Candidate must have 4+ years experience.
Experience in diagnostics and transmissions is an advantage.
