Newpark Childcare is recruiting a number of Early Years Educators to join Newpark Childcare, Chapel Road, Kinsealy, Co. Dublin

We are seeking self-driven, passionate and fun Early Years Educators who take pride in the work they do, communicate effectively with staff and have in depth knowledge of child development.

Responsibilities:
* To guide, observe and supervise children in a safe and caring environment as part of the team
* To work in close cooperation with the manager and other team members
* To ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of all children in your care
* To assist in the planning and implementation of an age appropriate stimulating programme of activities underpinned by Aistear and Siolta and the teachings of a play based curriculum
* To deal with issues as they arise in relation to the wellbeing of children
* To communicate to children at their level
* To provide personal care if necessary (toileting and washing)
* To carry out planned and unplanned observations (Aistear assessments) and developmental checks using the observation systems and materials
* To undertake first aid training, fire safety and manual handling, child protection and any other child course as required
* To undertake training if requested by the manager
* To attend and participate at meetings as required
* To liaise with the parents/guardians to keep them informed of the children’s progress and wellbeing
* To prepare for and attend parent/teacher meetings out of hours, if necessary
* To encourage good eating habits and personal hygiene for the children
* To use meal time as a social occasion with the children
* To be flexible regarding working in various care rooms. You will be required to work in different rooms should a staff member be absent
* To prepare and assist in the planning and implementation of daily instructional and developmental activities for children
* To report any safety hazards/risks to management immediately
* To refrain from engaging in any activity that poses a risk to you, other members of staff or children
* To have a comprehensive knowledge of fire and safety procedures within the building
* To maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
* To keep your workspace clean and hygienic
* To be familiar with all policies and procedures within the service
* To adhere to the childcare (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 and all other relevant legislation and regulations
* To implement the Aistear curriculum
* To ensure all quality and safety standards are maintained within the service at all times
Person Specification:
* FETAC level 5 or above on the National Qualifications Framework
* Knowledge of computer programmes e.g. Microsoft word, excel, outlook, calendar management
* Knowledge of Aistear and Siolta curriculum
* At least one to two years’ experience in an Early Years Educator role within early childhood education
* Knowledge of underpinning frameworks, curriculums, theory and legislation
* A genuine love of children
* Excellent organisational skills and effective communicator
* High attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to cope in a busy environment
* Ensure full compliance with mandatory courses
