The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Occupational Health will be responsible for managing the Occupational Health Service at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick. They will ensure an efficient and confidential service to employees, developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating a comprehensive occupational health service.
The CNS will also be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of employees, ensuring they are cared for in a holistic and professional manner. The role is a full-time permanent position, with 37.5 hours worked per week and flexible working days and times.
Remuneration for the successful candidate will be €59,661 - €75,389, based on experience. The role requires registration in the General Division of the register of Nurses kept by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), as well as a Level 8 Award relevant to the specialist area of Occupational Health.
A minimum of two years' experience in Occupational Health, preferably in a hospital environment, is required. The CNS must have demonstrated commitment to employee health, safety and welfare, and possess excellent organisational, communication, IT and administrative skills.
Role Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead Occupational Health practices, policies and procedures in line with legislation, best practice and Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.
* Management of pre-employment, employee referrals and immunisation and vaccination programmes.
* Co-ordinate and manage other various Nurse led Programmes including bloods, maintenance of records for all staff.
* Advise on and administer immunisation programmes.
* Conduct assessments on staff post incident.
* Practice within and support the Bon Secours Mission and Values, policies, procedures, guidelines and new initiatives as directed/introduced by the hospital.
* Provide emergency assessment and initial treatment/first aid of employees injury or illness and make referrals to outside services where required.
* Audit operational processes to the standards of best practice in order to optimise use of resources and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
* Participate in the implementation of related Hospital programmes e.g. Health & Safety initiatives, Induction, Absenteeism control, Infection Control and Employee Wellbeing.
