The successful candidate will investigate established and emerging political economies of arts, culture and creativity. The research will contribute directly to the ongoing development and implementation of the Institute's strategy and operational plans.
Particular emphasis will be placed on
* Rethinking the role of arts and culture in responding to contemporary societal challenges through an understanding ofshared creativityinvolving multiple stakeholders
* Exploring techniques for buildingcollective intelligencesthat can navigate the complexities of multiple crisis situations without reducing them to simplified messages
* Experimenting with a range of creative technologies that enable and promote adecentralisation and democratisation of planning and decision-makingby increasing creative confidence, trust and social coherence.
The researcher will explore cutting-edge, theoretical and practice-based research methods to address these challenges in an integrated approach, while proposing concrete solutions, documenting their implementation and managing potential stakeholder expectations.
The position requires a high level of commitment to contributing to the development and design of an ambitious, cutting-edge research environment that experiments at the intersections of multiple forms of impact and value in diverse contexts of knowledge production through the arts.
The successful candidate will be supported by the academic and professional team of the Creativity Institute, which will provide the institutional framework for specific case studies and in-depth investigations.
On this basis, the researcher will be expected to develop and propose novel approaches to the attribution of impact and value of cultural and creative activities.
Responsibilities:
* Investigate emerging, advanced and novel practices by exploring the role of critical thinking, decentralised architectures and collective agency in responding to the challenges of the triple transition (climate, digital, social)
* Test and evaluate preliminary findings in real-world contexts
* Propose the cornerstones of consistent support frameworks to valorise the research findings and outcomes
* Assisting with the development of the Creativity Institute’s web site and online resources.
* Regular collaboration with the project team, contributing ideas and helping to solve related project challenges.
* Presenting the results of research at seminars and conferences, in exhibitions and/or performances
* Publishing the results of research in quality peer-reviewed journals for Artistic Research, Digital Humanities and/or Data Science
