Coordinator of Communications & Engagement
About the Role
The Coordinator of Communications & Engagement will provide ongoing advice, consultation and resources regarding communication strategies for the Irish Province of Carmelites. This is a key appointment to develop and manage an effective communication strategy to include internal and external communications, assisting the Prior Provincial in promoting the Order's mission, ministry, and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with the Provincial to develop effective branding and mission-driven communication.
* Direct the dissemination of communications to all audiences through the Order's communication channels.
* Track engagement across various communication channels and make strategic recommendations driven by data.
* Produce compelling digital content and physical media that reflects the Order's vision and ethos.
* Lead the establishment of a Province Communications Commission to develop media content for the Order's use.
* Oversee and improve the management of internal communications in the province.
Main Qualifications
* An ability to work collaboratively with all groups, including staff, leadership, volunteers, donors, parishioners, and other supporters of the Carmelite Order and the Prior Provincial.
* Thorough knowledge of communication principles and practices with exceptional ability to communicate effectively verbally (both orally and written).
* Creativity, decision-making, interpersonal skills, use of discretion, teamwork, negotiation, service orientation, and public relations to foster the Church's mission.
* A good understanding of the value orientation of the Catholic Church and the Carmelite Order and a willingness to support those values in various forms of communications.
* Familiarity with social media platforms, photo and video editing software, email communication systems, and metrics such as Google Analytics.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Theology or related fields with 3 to 4 years' practical work experience.
* Formal education/training or extensive experience with using media effectively to communicate across generations, e.g., web-based applications, new media, print, and design.
