The Legal Services Executive position participates fully in team planning, services event coordination and delivery and other purposes as required. Events can occasionally occur after 5pm and at weekends.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties in line with the Organisation's standards and strategic objectives and as directed by the Head of Department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business supports & development
* Assist in the ongoing implementation of the Organisation's 5-year strategy.
* Implementation and ongoing management of the Services Excellence Standard business support initiative.
* Act as Secretary to the services excellence committee.
* Establish an expert panel of legal professionals to provide advice.
* Investigate grant supports available and develop appropriate guidance.
* Establish a process to regularly review and evaluate business supports and services offered by the Organisation.
* Complete a review of current business supports available for business owners, identify where there may be gaps and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop a suite of supports which will support SMEs throughout the lifecycle such as but not limited to:
o A Start-Up Toolkit for establishing a practice
o Retirement and Succession Planning supports
o A locum register
o Tools to assist with information technology development
o Supports and checklists to assist businesses with compliance and regulatory matters
o Supports and checklists to assist with complaints.
* Develop an online business network and seek to further collaborate with external bodies and professional bodies to build networks.
2. Information and Guidance
* Create relevant practice support content for the Organisation's e-Newsletters, website and other publications as required under the guidance of the Engagement and Communications strategy.
* Manage and regularly update content on the support sections on the Organisation's website.
* Responsibility for responding to small business-related queries received through the shared mailbox in a timely manner.
* Create opportunities & initiatives that promote the value of small businesses including attending regional cluster events.
* Represent and support services team brand and engagement and relationships objectives.
* Active contribution to general Organisation activity such as events and communications.
* Other tasks relating to the role as required.
3. Reporting
* Produce high quality reports and communication materials relating to the area of small business supports.
* Liaise with other Departments and Committees internally to progress initiatives.
* Work as part of the services team and provide support to the Head of Department as and when required.
Knowledge & Skills
The successful candidate will have:
* At least five years of professional experience in a legal environment.
* Proven record of developing and project-managing professional services such as: member supports and/or member communication initiatives.
* Good understanding of how small enterprises are effectively managed and developed.
* Experience in creating content and writing and publishing articles.
* Excellent writing ability and attention to detail.
* A creative, innovative, and initiative-taking approach to working in a dynamic team.
* Effective communication and organisational ability with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
* Ability to influence stakeholders in the Organisation and in the wider business community to work towards common goals.
* Project Management knowledge an advantage.
* An adaptable approach to work and an ability to work well as part of a collaborative team is essential - this role is team based.
* Approachable and demonstrating a collegial manner in all dealings.
* A proven record of commitment to professional and client service excellence.
