We are seeking a Systems Engineer III on a permanent basis to join our team.
Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, integration, and maintenance of complex systems. This position requires a solid understanding of systems engineering principles, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Requirements Management: Assist in the development and management of system software requirements, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and project goals. Develop and maintain requirements trace matrices, system-level requirements, and sub-system requirements.
• System Architecture: Contribute to the design and development of high-level system architectures that meet stakeholder needs and system requirements. Create detailed diagrams and documentation to support the system design.
• Standards and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of standards related to the systems. Ensure compliance with relevant software standards and methodologies set by the software team.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with core team leaders, technical leaders, and functional leads. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for the product throughout its lifecycle, from development to disposal. Document requirements, design development, validation through product launch, and ongoing support.
• Software Quality Review and Approval: Participate in software quality review and approval of validation documents to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Stay Current with Trends and Technology: Continuously update knowledge of current trends and advancements in technology to ensure the implementation of cutting-edge solutions and best practices.
Requirements:
• Experience with requirements management tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to software and systems engineering.
• Previous experience in a mentorship role.
• Experience with complex system design/integration and validation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience with software process design and ability to work effectively with vendors to ensure the software design is met.
• Experience working as the sole software resource on projects being responsible for providing software design of each system.
Qualifications:
• Honours Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years experience in relevant field
• Proven experience in systems engineering, with a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
