IT Supervisor IT Supervisor, Rathdowney, Co. Laois Company: Dawn Meats Location: Rathdowney, Co. Laois Job Title: IT Supervisor Reporting to: Site Operations Manager & Group IT Manager Role Summary: To be responsible for all aspects of IT site administration ensuring systems availability to all areas of the factory at all times, whilst delivering high quality client focused service. The successful candidate will be based at our Rathdowney production facility and will:
1. Implement Group IT initiatives across the site.
2. Take responsibility for installing and maintaining the company¿s IT network, servers and security systems, investigating and diagnosing network problems and finding solutions in an effective and timely manner.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of IT network systems and servers and make recommendations accordingly if there is any scope for improvement.
4. Provide IT specialist advice, service and repairs as required in respect to laptops, desk top PCs, phones, blackberries and printers.
5. Carry out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
6. Ensure that there is adequate storage space on all drives.
7. Set up new users and manage back up, security and passwords.
8. Be responsible for the day to day smooth running of the factory production system.
9. Ensure that hardware is operational for essential factory terminals with spare equipment on standby.
10. In conjunction with the Maintenance function, ensure that failed hardware is swapped and replaced as quickly as possible and have the software running.
11. Be responsible for product set up, configuring new products on the factory floor, software and test on the factory floor terminals to ensure that the labels (internal and external) meet with production and commercial requirements.
12. Plan and implement upgrades, communicating effectively with site departments to minimise downtime and minimise disruption.
13. Review standard software upgrades and consider the benefit or otherwise of added functionality for the site, consulting appropriately with production on the benefits.
14. Oversee to ensure that hardware is being properly treated and specifically that print heads are cleaned so as to maintain good barcode quality.
15. Remain the focal point of contact on site for specialist IT advice and services, providing expert guidance, coaching development and support to all site users taking ownership where necessary.
16. Establish constructive working relationships with all stakeholders on site and be available to help colleagues with any requirements including basic IT skills and needs.
17. Actively embrace help desk service KPIs and adhere to the high standards of customer service determined at group level.
18. Manage the resolution of any business critical system related issues, and provide site management and all other stakeholders with timely and accurate updates.
19. When required participate in any business related project, whether IT, LEAN, telecommunications or otherwise, offering recommendations, advice and guidance.
20. Be involved with colleagues from the IT Management team in developing policies, procedures, new ideas, systems, initiatives, etc.
21. Ensure timely ordering of IT related equipment (within scope of authority) for the business, ensuring budget, Capex and ordering guidelines have been adhered to.
22. Prepare and deliver reports, spreadsheets, summaries and any other information required by the site.
23. Manage change to IT systems with the ethos of continuous improvement.
24. Provide emergency cover outside of normal office hours.
