About our Team
Our team will be working on GIS products and bringing them to life. You will be working alongside SREs and Software Engineers.
About the Role
As a Java Software Engineer, you will be involved in the entire SSDLC of our Geospatial Risk Assessment Solution, participating in the design, estimation, implementation, and review of feature and test code, as well as guiding and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Responsibilities
1. Interfacing with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
2. Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
3. Working closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
4. Implementing development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
5. Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
6. Resolving technical issues as necessary.
7. Keeping abreast of new technology developments.
8. Completing bug fixes.
Requirements:
1. Possess experience with data manipulation languages and understanding of Data Model Principles.
2. Have experience in Java/J2EE development language, SpringBoot Design Patterns.
3. Have experience working in AWS or Azure.
4. Have experience working on products in a managed Kubernetes environment (a plus).
5. Possess experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL is a plus).
6. Exposure to ElasticSearch and/or OpenSearch (a plus).
7. Able to work with complex data models.
8. Familiarity with BDD methodology.
9. Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
10. Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
11. Good oral and written communication skills.
