An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice to join our team. This is an exciting initiative in conjunction with SOLAS and ATU offering you the opportunity to achieve the professional accreditation of a Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering, creating an alternative career path to the Civil Engineering profession.
Apprenticeship Duration
Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering - 2-year programme
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, and management of road surfacing projects.
Conduct site surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Work with CAD software to develop as-built drawings to agree accounts with clients.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate project development.
Learn about environmental and sustainability considerations in construction.
Apply theoretical knowledge gained from academic study to real-world engineering challenges.
How You Will Learn
The Civil Engineering Apprenticeship is run in conjunction with SOLAS and ATU. The Apprentice is a full-time employee of Kilsaran.
Apprentices Attend
* An on-campus week at ATU at the commencement of the course
* An on-campus day monthly for labs and workshops
* Online lectures one day each week
* Apprentices spend the remaining days working on the job to get hands-on experience of the modules they are studying. Apprentices will have a dedicated mentor to support their work-based learning.
