Post Summary: The Open Health Research Engagement Officer facilitates the delivery of a NORF-funded project, ‘Building a Culture of Open Research for Health and Social Care Practitioner-Researchers’ – Open Health Research Ireland Network (OHRIN) Project in short. This aims to support open research activity and open publishing for health and social care practitioners. It develops an Open Health Research Network and creates an open access journal, using the diamond open access model. The post-holder has a strong understanding and experience of the Irish health sector, the open research publication landscape and open research practices. They manage day-to-day project planning and progression, monitor milestones and provide relevant progress reports. Working in close collaboration with the project leads, project advisory board and project team, the post-holder engages in outreach with identified stakeholders, including practitioner groups, agencies and individual researchers. They scope and evaluate publication platforms for the new open access journal, with a view of launching it towards the end of the project. Along with the project advisory board, they develop editorial guidelines and an editorial panel for the journal. The Open Health Research Engagement Officer is a 1-year specific-purpose post, based in Trinity, within the Content Management and Open Scholarship (CMOS) division of the Library. The post-holder reports to the Deputy Head, CMOS, Acquisitions & Metadata on daily operational matters, and to the multi-institutional project leads on the project deliverables. The local line manager and the project leads provide mentorship and support.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract
The specific purpose of this employment is to provide support on the ‘NORF-funded project’ ‘Building a Culture of Open Research for Health and Social Care Practitioner-Researchers’ research project.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Post-Doctoral Researcher (PD 2 IUA Salary Scale) (€52,715 - €57,332 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
