Customs Compliance Manager
We are seeking a seasoned customs compliance professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for navigating complex global regulations.
This role is a crucial part of our Dublin facility, where you will oversee, monitor, and audit compliance practices within our extensive customs team.
You will lead a skilled team responsible for conducting audits, maintaining strong relationships with Revenue and HMRC, and addressing queries from Operations Teams, Customs Staff, and Customers.
As the key contact for customs expertise, you'll be the go-to source for all compliance queries, ensuring seamless and effective processes across our sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Serve as the in-house customs expert, managing AEO accreditation and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
* Foster relationships with customs authorities and address clearance and audit queries.
* Monitor and control compliance for national and international Common Transit consignments.
* Oversee essential paperwork for customer operations (e.g., Direct Representation and deferment facility permissions).
* Keep customs code changes up-to-date and communicate new requirements, providing training and process updates to the team.
* Conduct internal audits, implement process improvements, and re-train staff as needed to uphold customs standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Ireland, the UK, and with the Brexit team to establish shared best practices and effective communication channels.
Requirements:
* In-depth knowledge of customs clearance requirements and procedures
* 3+ years' experience delivering customer service in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
* Excellent understanding of supply chains and of the freight forwarding arena
* Motivated results-driven self-starter
* Strong organisation and communication skills
* Collaborative approach to problem solving
* Exceptional attention to detail, awareness of deadlines and time management
* Strong knowledge of customs systems, requirements, and query resolution.
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
