Derek Eakin Ltd is seeking a skilled Sewing Machinist and Presser for a full-time, on-site position based in Dublin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with sewing, alterations, garment construction, and finishing of school uniforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform sewing and garment construction, with a focus on school uniforms, skirts, and pinafores.
* Carry out alterations and repairs as required, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
* Press and finish clothing items using pressing machines, steamers, and irons.
* Ensure that garments are free from creases, marks, and other defects, preparing them for sale.
* Inspect finished garments for quality and consistency, making necessary adjustments to meet the highest standards.
* Collaborate with the team to maintain quality across all products and meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
* At least 5 years of experience in garment construction, specifically with school uniforms or similar apparel.
* Proficient in sewing techniques, garment pressing, and alterations/repairs.
* Strong attention to detail, ensuring garments are free from defects and meet customer specifications.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain high-quality craftsmanship.
* Available for immediate start.
