Keelings is hiring experienced Machine Operators for full-time roles in St. Margaret's, Co. Dublin.
Shift Pattern:
6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am
Machine Operators will work all of the above shifts, rostered any 5 over 7, including weekends and nights depending on business requirements. A night premium and Sunday premium apply.
Main Responsibilities
Machine Operation
* Ensure the team achieves maximum efficiency based on machine potential.
* Carry out changes in line with defined roles and responsibilities, and the formal process.
* Set up packaging to minimize downtime.
* Set up printers as required.
* Reconcile recorded units with physical production and escalate if necessary.
* Start and stop the line with production run size.
* Validate Marco scales calibration at the start of shift and record documentation.
* Check packs during production to ensure finished goods meet customer specification in terms of quality and presentation.
* Ensure all scales are tarred correctly before every run as applicable.
* Plan and prepare heating of sealing tools according to production plan to minimize downtime where possible.
* Carry out spot checks on weights and record as required.
Packaging and Labels
* Ensure right packaging is available before each changeover.
* Check packaging supply at start of shift and escalate to a Team Leader if necessary.
* Verify label samples and leave them in provided folders.
* Collect waste packaging in bins provided.
* Cross-check labels against raw material to ensure correctness.
* Keep samples of film/labels from every production in relevant folders.
* Sign off and collect labels from the label room.
* Escalate unresolved issues to a Team Leader or Packhouse Shift Manager.
Safety and Hygiene
* Maintain a safe working environment at all times and escalate issues to a Team Leader or Shift Manager for resolution.
* Ensure packing areas/machines meet Site Quality system standards.
* Uphold personal hygiene standards at all times and ensure compliance among team members.
* Ensure product meets specification by handling and packing it properly.
* Perform pre-op checks before using equipment/machinery.
* Report machine defects to a Team Leader and stop the line if necessary.
* Be responsible for food safety, quality, and integrity in your role-specific tasks.
* Conduct/supervise Critical Control Point verification checks (Metal Detection) where required.
Communication
* Liaise closely with FLT drivers to ensure raw material is available at machines for packing in a timely fashion and ahead of changeovers.
* Hand-over information with colleagues detailing machine issues and packing plan status.
* Work in partnership with QA Teams to keep work areas clear of finished goods.
* Inform FLT drivers of crates and boxes needed ahead of next production.
* Work with FLT drivers to maintain the floor layout, ensuring everything is placed accordingly.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a production/manufacturing environment.
* Excellent organizational skills.
