Job Purpose
The Grade VII Business Manager post is responsible for managing all administrative and clerical aspects of the patient services departments, including Radiology, Ward Clerk, and Emergency Department, to ensure efficient delivery of services to patients.
The post holder will also support Surgical, Maternity, Radiology & Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Direction, Service Planning & Development: Provide information and reports on services as appropriate to the Senior Management Team. Work collaboratively with Consultants, Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, and Heads of Service to ensure high-quality, efficient services for patients.
* Human Resource/Supervision of Staff: Supervise and enable other team members to carry out their responsibilities. Review completion of assignments of other staff in accordance with the operational plan and expected quality standards.
* Administration: Ensure the efficient administration of area of responsibility. Appropriately delegate responsibility and authority.
* Change Management: Promote and participate in the implementation of change. Proactively identify inequities/inefficiencies in service administration and implement solutions to improve service delivery.
* Health & Safety: Have a working knowledge of HIQA Standards as they apply to the role. Understand and adhere to all relevant HSE policies, guidelines and procedures.

* Experience of managing a significant number of staff within a busy service.
* Experience of drafting and producing reports as relevant to the role.
* Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, as relevant to this role.
* Experience of implementing standards, policies, procedures and guidelines in the area.
* Experience of delivering multiple concurrent pieces of work.
