We are seeking Tax Juniors to join our Tax team in our Athenry, Kilkenny and Roscommon offices.
The Role
This is a full-time role working in a professional office environment starting off with an extensive onboarding programme at our Kilkenny Head Office in June 2025
As a Tax Junior, you will assist the tax department in providing tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to clients. You will work closely with senior tax professionals to develop your skills and knowledge in tax law and regulations. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, preparing tax returns, assisting with Revenue audits, and providing support in various tax-related projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in the tax field and within ifac.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and rulings to support tax planning and compliance activities. Analyse complex tax issues and provide recommendations to senior team members.
Tax Return Preparation: Assist in the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities in relation to tax projects.
Tax Compliance: Help ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by assisting in the preparation of tax filings, including estimated tax payments, VAT returns, and payroll issues. Review financial statements and supporting documentation to identify potential tax issues.
Client Support: Collaborate with senior tax professionals to provide assistance and support to clients. Respond to client inquiries and local office queries, gather necessary information, and assist in resolving tax-related issues.
Revenue Audits: Aid in tax audit preparation by gathering and organising relevant documents, reconciling financial data, and assisting in the communication with tax authorities. Assist in addressing audit inquiries and resolving any discrepancies.
Project Support: Contribute to tax-related projects, such as mergers and acquisitions and restructuring. Assist in the preparation of project deliverables and participate in meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
Professional Development: Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends. Participate in training programs and seek opportunities for professional growth within the tax field.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
A third level qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to deliver top quality customer service.
Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and principles.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively.

A proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
