Principal Embedded Software Engineer at Boston Scientific Clonmel

Your Responsibilities:
1. Lead and contribute to developing, debugging, modifying, and testing application software using C/C++ and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design methodology.
2. Track software development progress by creating and maintaining records in the approved software version control system.
3. Solve engineering problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
4. Investigate, research, and select software designs, operating systems, and/or practices.
5. Participate in design and code reviews.
6. Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes to ensure the team can meet delivery requirements.
7. Continuously improve processes and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to enhance workflow.
8. Develop Software Development Plans outlining deliverables for projects including Development Environment, Coding Standards, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Issue and Defect tracking processes, Build Procedures, Verification and Validation methodologies, and Iteration Planning.
9. Engage in developing specifications, architectures, designs, schedules, and unit and integration test plans related to product development activities and product upgrades.
10. Mentor other engineers in software engineering activities/methodologies and domain knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
11. 7+ years of relevant work experience with a Hons BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
12. Extensive experience developing solutions using C, C++ on microcontrollers/microprocessors, or FPGA devices.
13. Strong understanding of Embedded fundamentals and interfaces.
14. Proficient in HW/FW bring-up and debugging skills and working with hardware lab equipment.
15. Experience in technical specification and report writing.
16. Proficient with unit test and system test of embedded software systems.
17. Ability to work well with team members from various disciplines and backgrounds and independently.
18. Experience with communication buses such as I2C, SPI, and RS232.
